Emma Carleton, violin Violinist Emma Carleton, age 11, is a student of Ann Setzer in the Pre-College Division at The Juilliard School. She has been a member of the Interschool Orchestras of New York since she was seven and is currently a member of the ISO Symphony Orchestra that gave a concert in Madrid, Spain in February 2004.
Emma has played in master classes for Pamela Frank and Toby Appel, and has given solo recitals in Seattle, the Berkshires and New York City. In May 2004, she performed Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy with the Bergen Youth Symphony. Emma has also performed in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Symphony Space. She is a past recipient of the Mu Phi Epsilon Prize and her former teachers include Dr. Nina Crothers at the Turtle Bay Music School in New York City.
Emma is in the sixth grade at the Hewitt School in New York City.
